After almost a 24-hour flight, finally arrived Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan.
Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Terminal 2
The airport opened in 1979 and was known as Chiang Kai-shek Internatinoal Airport. Duo to the change of political atmosphere, from a nationalist government, which presents a China-centered ideology, to a DDP government that presents a Taiwan-centered ideology, the airport replaced Chiang Kai-shek from its title to Taiwan Taoyuan in 2006.
We stayed over night in Zhongli, a small city near the airport, and took the Taiwan High Speed Rail train to Tainan.
Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taoyuan Station
From Taoyuan to Tainan, about the same distance from Hartford, CT to NYC, only took us 1 and a half hours. It was fast! Also, we got a very good deal on the tickets: 40% off!

Generally, it’s a long but enjoyable trip.
Now I am in Taiwan, and I am very excited about the coming field research!
